QTS buys 260,000 SF Data Center in Sale-Partial Leaseback Transaction
QTS Realty Trust (NYSE: QTS) acquired the Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC) data center in Ft. Worth, Texas for $50M in January, 2017. The data center is 260,000 sq ft with expansion capacity on adjacent land. The data center has 8MW of power and 40,000 sq ft of raised floor space which can be expanded within the existing facility. HCSC, the former owner, leased back 1MW as part of the overall transaction.
This new data center transaction gives QTS immediate additional capacity in the rapidly growing Dallas-Ft. Worth data center market. This new facility adds to the QTS presence in the area with a data center they opened in Irving, Texas in 2014.
