Atlanta Data Center Market Full Of New Project Announcements
Gearing Up For Growth
The Atlanta data center market has witnessed a number of new large projects announced of the past six (6) months which will surely change the overall data center landscape over the next eighteen (18) months. Historically, Atlanta has been a colocation and interconnect centric market with annual absorption of less than 6 MWs.
Over the past several months, CyrusOne, Switch and T5 Data Centers have all announced large-scale data center projects in the Atlanta metro anticipating a wave of wholesale and hyperscale deployments not yet seen in the Southeast.
Atlanta currently has limited commissioned supply available to accommodate the larger deployments. As the new projects get underway, we anticipate some significant pre-leasing announcements in 2018 as the data centers projects move towards completion in 2019. The first projects to market will be the biggest beneficiaries and the race is on.
